Gas alarm at Stade vocational school: 61 injured after argument!

A dramatic incident shook the vocational schools in Stade on Monday afternoon! A dispute escalated when one person involved sprayed his opponents with irritant gas and then fled. A large contingent of firefighters, rescue services and police were immediately called in to bring the situation under control.

A total of 61 people complained of respiratory and eye irritation after the irritant gas spread through the hallways of the school building. The fire department and rescue control center reacted quickly and dispatched around 45 firefighters, including the Stade fire department and the Bützfleth local fire department. A MANV (mass casualty incident) alarm was also triggered, which led to the arrival of seven ambulances, an emergency doctor and other emergency services.

Rescue measures and treatment

Those affected were seen and treated in adjoining rooms of the sports hall, with some receiving eyewash. Nine people had to be taken to the Elbe Clinic in Stade for further treatment, but fortunately there were no serious injuries. The fire department immediately took measurements to check the air quality and found that the irritant gas had already dissipated.

Meanwhile, several hundred students had to remain in their classrooms until they were led outside via safe side exits. After consultation with the school management, the entire school was thoroughly ventilated to completely eliminate the danger. An incident that put the nerves of everyone involved to the test, but thanks to the quick intervention of the emergency services, it ended safely!
