There is unrest at the Christmas market on Neubrunnenplatz in Mainz: the traditional Christmas tree seller Rudolf Hillebrand was banned from his long-standing stand this year. In an interview with the Allgemeine Zeitung, Hillebrand explained that he was pushed to the sidelines because of the market's realignment, which focuses primarily on gastronomic offerings. “We were pushed into the corner where no one could see us anymore,” complained Hillebrand, who emphasized that his stand needed more space to accommodate customers.
