Heroic deeds on the highway: how first aiders saved a life!
In a dramatic rescue operation on the A1 near Burscheid, on Friday afternoon, December 6, 2024, fire brigade, emergency services and emergency doctor were alerted around 4:35 p.m. A traffic accident with two vehicles had occurred, and the situation was critical: one of the drivers was already resolating on site. The brave driver of a Porsche noticed a striking vehicle that drove with snake lines and touched several construction site bars. In order to prevent worse things, he broke out the car by hand, although this meant damaging his own car. "Such selfless action is one of the most remarkable deeds," praised operations manager Michael Machill. This quick reaction would have been decisive because it may have saved life (see further details at Fireworld).
Immediate consequences of the rescue
Numerous first aiders were active at the accident site, including a group with emergency training training that happened to come by. They supported the resuscitation and secured the danger site. Thanks to the quick and competent help of those present, the fire brigade had not much to do, except to illuminate the site and to support the emergency services in the further patient care. The police took over the further measures after their arrival. Despite the serious situation, information about the health of the patient subject to resuscitation remained vague.
The use underlines the importance of the position of the position, a central element in fire work, which is also treated intensively in specialist circles. A thorough exploration forms the basis for all further measures for human rescue (more in the chapter of Springer). The exemplary actions of the Porsche driver and all first aiders represent an impressive example of civil courage and quick decision making that can be decisive in the event of an emergency.
