Large deployment in Kittsee: Fire brigade fights against devastating building fire!

On New Year's Day 2025, at 7:40 a.m., the Kittsee fire brigade was alerted to a fire in the "Seepark Kittsee". Together with the fire brigades from Edelstal and Rust as well as some Lower Austrian weirs who supported drones and aerial ladders, the emergency services moved out. The police had reported the fire and a quick intervention was asked. At the site, the head of operations found that the owners had already heavily contained the fire, which meant relief for the fire brigade. Therefore, some supportive forces have already been canceled on the way, such as FIREOWORLD.AT reported.

A respiratory protection team from the Kittsee fire brigade penetrated into the building under heavy breathing protection and used a thermal imaging camera to locate embers. After checking and reversing work, the burned was well brought outside. Finally, pressure ventilation ensured that the building could be made smoke -free. The owners who had suspected flue gas poisoning in the incident were taken to the hospital by the Samaritan Association. The exact cause of the fire is currently unknown. The Kittsee volunteer fire brigade looks back on over 140 years of history. It was launched after devastating fires in 1867 and 1872, in which over 100 houses in Kittsee were destroyed. Since then, the fire brigade has continuously developed to ensure the security of the community. The community is of great importance, since the fire brigade consists of volunteers who regularly organize exercises and competitions to improve their skills and to stay up to date with the latest art.
