In a shocking incident in Giengen an der Brenz, three young people aged just 13 and 14 caused a stir on a school grounds on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Witnesses reported that the uninvited guests experimented with fireworks and wanted to set the entire area on fire. The stage for this dangerous fun was the covered area of the bicycle racks on Eberhardstrasse, where the chaos began.
The situation escalated when the boys poured a flammable liquid over a scooter connected to the stands and started the fire. A concerned witness who discovered the fire acted quickly with courage and, together with a helper, was able to contain the flaming inferno with two buckets of water. Fortunately, the fire department was no longer needed; Nevertheless, the simmering shock remained among the residents.
Investigations are in full swing
The Giengen police have started an investigation into the damage to property. The estimated damage to the scooter is around 50 euros. It is now up to the investigators to clarify the identity of the perpetrators and also find the rightful owner of the burned scooter.
