Fire brigade youth bring light of peace to Wiener Neustadt!

Wiener Neustadt experienced an impressive spectacle on December 24, 2024! The Ö3 Christmas Miracle, an event full of festive atmosphere, took place in the city center, where the fire department youth handed over the peace light to the Wiener Neustadt volunteer fire department. At 7:00 a.m., the young firefighters, accompanied by Mayor Klaus Schneeberger and Municipal Director Markus Biffl, marched to the glass studio on the main square. The members Mario Milik and Amelie Perkonig ceremoniously handed over the light to the moderators of the event team.

Special support and fundraisers

The fire service community was not only involved in this ceremony. Shortly before the big day, the parents of three fire department youth members organized a cake sale. The Kadar family surprised everyone with homemade pastries and collected a remarkable 500 euros, which were donated to the fire department. The fire department itself also contributed to the festive atmosphere by handing over 400 euros to the Christmas miracle. The fire department youth in Wiener Neustadt consists of young people between the ages of 10 and 15 who are looked after by specially trained members of the fire department. This support is provided through intensive training at the Lower Austrian State Fire Brigade School, where the young people learn both theoretical and practical skills. The focus is on safety and fun, which is underlined by the opportunity to take part in exciting exercises with the active team.
