Fire drama in Limbach: husband missing in house fire!
In Limbach, a small town in the Neckar-Odenwald district, a devastating fire broke out in a single-family home on Sunday morning, which required a large number of rescue workers. The fire on Hirschbergstrasse was reported at around 10:33 a.m., whereupon around 80 firefighters, paramedics from the German Red Cross and emergency chaplains were immediately on site. A resident of the house has since been reported missing, while his wife, who was at a church service when the incident occurred, is safe. The fire department estimates the material damage at several hundred thousand euros. The local police are also on duty and have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire the RNZ reports.
Intensive firefighting work underway
The extinguishing work, which is very time-consuming, could last until the evening hours. Particular challenges arise from the intensity of the fire, which necessitated a request for reinforcements for the fire brigade. These were requested from the neighboring towns of Mosbach, Buchen and Walldürn. The exact number of injured initially remained uncertain, but emergency services are ready to provide quick help in an emergency. A word from district fire chief Jörg Kirschenlohr indicates the seriousness of the situation: “A person is considered missing and we are doing everything we can to find him.” SWR reports. The dramatic scenes on site underline the urgency of the situation and the determination of the rescue workers to gain control of the situation.
