According to information from ORF Vorarlberg, the young driver was driving his car on the road towards Wolfurt when he left the road for unknown reasons. His vehicle slid across a snow-covered area, plunged into a steep ravine and after about 13 meters crashed into a tree. The severe head and facial injuries he suffered in this impact resulted in the man's immediate death, an emergency doctor determined.

The emergency services, including the Wolfurt fire department, were on site with a comprehensive emergency team to rescue the driver from the vehicle.
