125 years of Uderns fire department: tradition, honors and heroic missions!
In March 2025, the spectacular 125th annual general meeting of the Uderns Volunteer Fire Department took place in the Uderns sports center. Under the chairmanship of Commander OBI Reinhard Gruber, numerous members gathered and filled the hall to the last seat. The meeting was structured by looking back at the 2024/2025 operational year: Gruber reported on the challenges and diverse operations that the team had to overcome, while deputy commander Manfred Eberharter spoke about the intensive training that ensured the firefighters' continuous training. Particular emphasis was placed on the youth work, which youth representative Nathalie Buttenhauser provided information about, including knowledge competitions and sporting events. The competition group's successes were recognized by HBM Hans-Peter Laimböck, which once again demonstrated the fire department's commitment and team spirit fireworld.at reported.
Important decisions and honors
A significant point of this meeting was the honoring of deserving members who were rewarded for their dedicated efforts. During these celebrations, a new command election also took place, with Herbert Eibl being elected as Reinhard Gruber's new deputy. This was not the only moving decision in the history of the fire service. On March 16th, during the 120th annual general meeting, deputy commander Josef Bucher was awarded the district fire brigade association's medal of merit in gold before he left his office. These developments show the strong commitment and dedication of the Uderns fire department, without a doubt a pillar of security in the region ff.uderns.at noted.
Looking back at the fire brigade's most recent operations, the year began with a fire alarm in a golf hotel and continued through a variety of operations such as rescuing a dog from a torrent and numerous wasp operations that lasted into the summer. Such activities demonstrate the fire department's constant readiness to not only belong, but also actively help and protect. The Uderns fire department is definitely a model of exemplary citizen service and tireless commitment to protecting the community.
