New tenants at Weintor: Fresh cuisine and live music are coming!
The popular restaurant “Deutsches Weintor” has had a turbulent time: the former tenant and chef Manfred Klug has closed his business. Klug, who made the restaurant on the border with France known for its idyllic location, pulled the ripcord after numerous challenges. How rheinpfalz.de reported, the economic situation and the associated uncertainty was the main reason for Klug's decision to close the restaurant and lock the door for the last time.
A little later, however, there was a happy new beginning: Manfred Klug and his partner Svetlana Lassahn have now leased the restaurant. How pfalz-express.de states, the two combine their culinary strengths and are happy to implement innovative concepts. They plan to appeal to a wide audience with their own kitchen and a focus on fresh, home-made dishes, relying on typical regional dishes without ready-made products. Additionally, they have created live music events to provide guests with an entertaining experience.
A new gastronomic concept
The new tenants have combined their passion for gastronomy with a fresh concept. Klug emphasizes that everything from sauces to cakes is homemade and humorously comments: “It should taste like Grandma’s.” Their goal is to delight guests with a mix of classic German cuisine and modern touches. The first live music events are planned from May 5th, accompanied by an all-you-can-eat barbecue, which offers promising prospects for the restaurant business. The revival of the restaurant after a short period of closure is also welcomed by District Administrator Dietmar Seefeldt, who emphasizes the central role of the Weintor for the region.
