A rising star in the Ski World Cup
Meanwhile, a young talent is causing a sensation in the ski circus: Lara Colturi is not only the first Albanian to reach a podium in the Alpine Ski World Cup, but is also surprising with her enormous skiing skills. “It is fascinating to see such a young talent at the top of the world,” emphasized former Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg. Colturi, who is only 18 years old, has already found her place in international skiing and counts the giant slalom, slalom and super-G disciplines among her strengths. After her impressive second place in the slalom discipline in Gurgl, she could become serious competition for the biggest names in skiing Eurosport.
Colturi has accepted the challenge of competing as part of the Albanian Ski Federation after previously wanting to compete for Italy. Her focus is on building her skills and getting comfortable with smaller goals while taking advantage of the opportunities her new home offers. “I think that the journey in Italy would have been too slow for the family,” explained Rebensburg. With her move, Colturi aims to get to the top of the world faster and plans to continually improve.
