Formula 1 2025: Start of the season in Australia – An exciting race awaits!
The 2025 Formula 1 season opens on March 16 at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. This is a notable change as the traditional start of the season in Bahrain has been adjusted due to Ramadan, which takes place in March. The Chinese Grand Prix follows on March 23rd. This decision to rethink the racing direction signals the influence of cultural conditions on international motorsport, such as F1 Insider reports.
A tight schedule
The racing calendar includes a total of 24 Grands Prix and takes the Formula 1 field straight into a hectic start with a triple-header in April that includes races in Japan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Most notably, Bahrain, which has hosted the inaugural race for the past four years, has now been moved to April 13 in the middle of the month. This change is part of Formula 1's efforts to traditionally not hold races in the region during this time Cosmo reports.
After the start of the season in Australia, the season continues in Europe in May with races in Imola, Monaco and Barcelona. Two summer breaks are also planned: one after Silverstone in July and another in August to give the teams a period of recovery. The final leg of the season takes drivers to North America and concludes with a challenging triple-header of races in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
