England sweeps New Zealand with 323 runs and secures series victory!

Wellington, Neuseeland - A top -class spectacle! England defeated New Zealand in the second test in Wellington with an overwhelming lead of 323 runs and thus secured an unobstructible 2-0 lead in the three games. The English dominated the events almost from the first to the last minute and showed that they are on the way to the dominance!

Joe Root, the captain of the English team, was the bright hero of the day. With an impressive century (106 runs) he set the sign of the triumph of his troop. The English bowlers had New Zealand throw the towel in the last section of the third day with just 259 runs and thus secured the first series profit on New Zealand soil since 2008.

Blundell fights bravely

Despite the defeat, there was a ray of hope for New Zealand: Tom Blundell! The Wicketkeeper fought bravely through the English bowling attack and scored 115 runs before he was spectacularly caught by Ben Duckett. But his heroism was too late to avert the impending disaster. The New Zealanders had no chance in the pursuit of the huge goal of 583 Runs and had to give up after a further collapse of the lower ranks.

The English team, which came back in the last series after a 1-2 defeat against Pakistan, was determined and fully confident. Captain Ben Stokes praised Harry Brook's "Bravour", who initiated the turn with 123 runs on the first day after New Zealand won four quick winds at the beginning. "The Wicket is like a snake pit, especially on the first day, there was a lot of movement in it," said Stokes enthusiastically.

New Zealand under pressure

The New Zealand team, which has recently drawn attention to itself with an impressive 3-0 victory against India, seemed pale and unsettled. Captain Tom Latham confessed that the two severe defeats "obviously hurt" and announced that in the third and last test on December 14th in Hamilton to fight for his team's pride. "We came here with the hope of forming good partnerships, but the early loss of three or four winds has thrown us back," said Latham.

Stokes was sure that his team would not even need a fourth day to secure victory. "580 runs are a lot, no matter where you play. The pressure on New Zealand was enormous, especially on this Wicket," he added. England is currently showing great cricket and leaving no doubt about who has control over the series!
