Trump's special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, criticized the attacks as an "indiscriminate killing of women and children," highlighting the cruel reality of war.

The intensity of these attacks is alarming, as the previous Russian offensive in the previous nights had already resulted in twelve deaths and almost 80 injuries. President Zelensky described the airstrikes as the worst since the beginning of the conflict and called for more pressure on Russia. Evidence of high drone production in Russia, delivering up to 4,000 devices to the front line every day, increases concerns. Putin had already announced in April that there was a lack of weapons. The current situation may indicate that such attacks will become the new norm in the ongoing war.

According to her, this behavior could also be a signal to Washington and the EU. Ultimately, Russia not only aims to break the Ukrainian population's will to resist, but also pursues long-term strategic goals. According to the analysis of the situation, both sides have been trying to maximize their political goals since 2014, without being able to mobilize superior forces.

The war, which began with the annexation of Crimea in 2014, has now become one of the largest regional conflicts in Europe since the end of World War II. Despite significant militant efforts, Russia has difficulty balancing its political objectives with military capabilities. On the other hand, Ukraine, which continues to fight for its existence, was able to recapture over half of the territories lost since February 24, 2022. In this context, Trump has formulated his goal of stopping the bloodshed and normalizing relations with Russia.

At the same time, the nuclear dimension of the conflict remains a serious issue. The threat of nuclear use has not yet led to actual escalation, but it does allow Russia to reposition itself over time. Despite the existing mobilization of resources and the pressure at the front, the starting situation in this war of attrition remains extremely tense, with an uncertain outcome for both sides. The Ukrainian Air Force has already developed a defense strategy to neutralize Russian air superiority, but the consequences and course of the war remain difficult to predict.
