The fourth Open Data Expo will take place in Vienna on March 5, 2025, organized by the FH Technikum Wien and the Vienna Business Agency. This important event has the motto “Experience and understand data” and is considered a platform for exchange between experts, students and interested parties from various areas. How OTS reports, numerous institutions and companies will present innovative projects based on publicly available data. Visitors can look forward to a variety of interactive stands, workshops and tours, including guided visits to the Vienna air measurement network with small groups of 20 people each.

Unique insights into open data

The Open Data Expo offers exciting insights into current projects in the open data movement that deal with topics such as smart cities, transport, the environment and energy. Various partners, including Wien Digital, Wiener Linien and the University of Vienna, present their fascinating open data initiatives. Entry to the event is free, which makes participation even more attractive. Additionally, a data trail will be offered on March 6 to further explain the importance of publicly available data, such as Vienna Technical Center highlights.

Open data is data that is made available to national or international organizations and can be used by anyone. This data opens up a wide range of possible applications and promotes the innovative development of new apps and applications. For more than 14 years, the Open Data Days have been demonstrating the relevance of this data worldwide and drawing attention to its benefits. With this year's Open Data Expo, Vienna will be part of this important initiative for the fourth time.
