Younes Ebnoutalib: Jump from Gießen to the top team Elversberg

FC Gießen has to accept a painful departure: top talent Younes Ebnoutalib is moving to SV Elversberg, the current league leader in the 2nd Bundesliga. The 21-year-old striker, who only moved to the regional league team in the summer, scored six goals in 19 games for Giessen and also prepared two more. Just five months after moving to Giessen, Ebnoutalib can now take the next step in his career. He signed a contract until 2028 and will see the signing as a great opportunity for his further development in the higher league, as reported on the Elversberg club website.

“Younes has a lot of potential and the talent to assert himself in the 2nd Bundesliga,” explained Ole Book, sports director at SV Elversberg. Ebnoutalib himself was also enthusiastic about his new challenge: “I am very happy about the opportunity to prove myself here at SV Elversberg, it will be another new challenge for me.” No information about a transfer fee was published regarding the transfer modalities, but the player's importance is also reflected in the fact that his profile on transfermarkt.de was recently the most visited in Germany, as reported by torgranate.de and transfermarkt.de shows.

Ebnoutalib's departure is not the only painful news for FC Gießen, as Krish Raweri is also leaving the club and moving to SC Freiburg II. While the club is pushing ahead with its squad planning during the winter break, Gießen is receiving two new players: goalkeeper Aleksa Lapcic and offensive player Shako Onangolo, who are supposed to bring a breath of fresh air into the team. The developments at Gießen make it clear that the club is continuing to actively work on its future and make adjustments in order to remain competitive in the regional league.
