Winter magic in the Breitachklamm: special opening on the weekend?

The breathtaking Breitachklamm in Oberstdorf, a true natural wonder, attracts thousands of visitors every year. But the gorge remains closed at the moment! The reason is urgent repair work to ensure the safety of guests. However, operations manager Dominik Fritz gives hope: a special opening could take place next weekend, from November 23rd to 24th, if the weather cooperates. The decision is made today!

The regular winter season begins on December 21st and the gorge opens daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A real Christmas present for all nature lovers! The spectacular icicles that form in the deepest rocky gorge in Europe are another highlight. But be careful: these impressive ice formations take time to grow. Fritz warns that the conditions have to be right - several days below 0 degrees are necessary, and rain could endanger the magical icicles.

Prices and hiking information

A visit to the Breitachklamm is not only an experience, but also good business! Adults aged 16 and over pay 7.50 euros, children between 5 and 15 years only pay 2.50 euros. For drivers, the parking ticket costs 4 euros for the whole day. The hike through the gorge takes about an hour, stretches over 2.2 kilometers and has a height difference of 245 meters. The difficulty level is easy to medium, ideal for the whole family!
