Winter break for Kaufbeurens footballer: Derby falls victim to the snow!
The football district League team from Kaufbeuren and the Ostallgäu said goodbye to the winter break a week earlier than planned due to violent snowfall. The eagerly awaited derby between the SVO Germaringen and FC Thalhofen fell victim to the weather and is now being made up for on March 19, 2025. The SVO Germaringen ends the year with 28 points from 19 games and ranks in a solid eighth place. Sports director Oliver Baumann is satisfied, but admits that the start of the season was bumpy. "Vacation, injured players and a new coach made sure that you had to find yourself at first," he explains. But the team caught up and put an impressive series of nine games without defeat.
Although the SVO goes into the winter break with a nine point lead to the relegation places, the mood remains tense. Baumann hopes to be able to fall back on the injured players after the break and maybe even sign one or two new additions. In the spectator table, the Germaringer are at the top with an average of 424 fans per game.
FC Thalhofen: Rising at a glance!
FC Thalhofen, on the other hand, says goodbye with an impressive series of eight wins in a row and a strong second place in the table. Trainer Florian Niemeyer is optimistic: "I am firmly convinced that the course of the season is completely open." Despite the five points behind the leaders SG Niedersonthofen/Martinszell, he still sees a lot of potential for his team. Interrorders Robin Volland adds: "We still have to work to push through our game over the full 90 minutes."
The SpVgg Kaufbeuren also has to fight with challenges and hibernates on a relegation place. Captain Robin Conrad is self -critical and emphasizes the need to make individual mistakes. "We now have to deal with the mistakes and make sure that we no longer concede any goals due to our own mistakes," he demands. Despite the difficulties, he remains optimistic and appeals to his team to draw strength from the positive games. "I am confident that we will come back to the road to success," said the top scorer with 14 goals.
