Experience values in a new way: Pilot project at Bad Camberg school inspires!

Bad Homburg/Badd Camberg, an exciting pilot project is starting!A groundbreaking project begins at the Taunusschule in Bad Camberg that catapults value education into the digital era. DigitalSchoolStory and the Values Foundation are joining forces to give students the chance to learn and live important values such as respect, tolerance and responsibility through creative TikTok videos. By January 2025, four classes will be engaged in this innovative teaching as they tell their own stories about their values and strengthen the school community.

A sign of the times for values education– The Hessian Ministry of Culture has introduced two lessons per week for values education in order to give orientation to newly immigrated students in particular. But how does this work in practice? Digital tools and a deep understanding of values are combined here, making the project a possible role model for all of Hesse. “Values are not abstract concepts, but lived coexistence in a democratic community,” explains Nina Mülhens, co-founder of DigitalSchoolStory. “Our approach makes it possible to bring values to life through social media – here democracy is thought of digitally!”

Where education meets creativity– Tanja Heinisch, teacher at the Taunusschule, is enthusiastic about the positive energy that the project develops. “The students have an enthusiasm that seems almost tangible,” she enthuses. Under guidance, the young people independently design content that promotes respect and community - all in a modern, creative format. Minister Armin Schwarz describes the project as a beacon for value education in schools in Hesse. “We must consistently advocate for democratic values and respectful interaction in our schools,” said Schwarz. Here it becomes clear: value education is not only important, it is urgently necessary!
