Triumph for the LAZ district of Günzburg: team spirit secures championship title!

In an exciting conclusion to the athletics season, the LAZ district of Günzburg won numerous titles. At the district championships that recently took place in Untermeitingen, the athletes showed their skills in an impressive way. Particularly noteworthy are the victories of Rebecca Schorer and Johannes Mensch over 5000 meters, which impressively demonstrated the team spirit and determination of their club.

For the team competitions in Donauwörth, the LAZ put together three teams consisting of athletes from Niederraunau, Thannhausen, Jettingen and Burgau. The participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their talent in various disciplines such as running, jumping and throwing. The male U18 team proved to be particularly successful, taking first place with a total score of 6,673 points. David Rittler and his teammates trumped the competition from LG Donau-Ries, who achieved 6,435 points.

Strong performances in various disciplines

A highlight of the competition was Kevin Gnann's long jump, who collected a lot of points for his team with an impressive performance of 5.66 meters and at the same time set his personal best. The men's team, consisting of Felix Schramm, Günter Schmitt and other talented athletes, also scored 9,103 points after nine disciplines and took sixth place.

Among the women's teams, six teams competed in different disciplines. The LAZ team, which consisted of ten dynamic athletes such as Alisa Holzbock and Rebecca Schorer, completed the competition with a total score of 6504 points. This secured them third place on the podium, which is a proud result after consistently good performances from everyone involved.

Team spirit and sense of community

Although athletics is often perceived as an individual sport, this event focused on team spirit. Despite their individual achievements, the athletes managed to develop a strong sense of community, which made the competitions an unforgettable experience. The joy of togetherness was noticeable for all participants and highlighted the importance of teamwork in a competition.

The successes of the LAZ district of Günzburg at these championships are not only proof of the athletes' individual talent, but also of the excellent training and support they receive from their coaches and the club. Such opportunities not only strengthen the athletes, but also help promote sport in the Günzburg district region.

These impressive results motivate the LAZ athletes to train even harder next year in order to further build on their successes and shine again next year.
