In a decisive turning point for the traditional Kneer laundry factory in Westerheim, an investor has now been found who will take over the business. After filing for insolvency in September due to high costs and falling sales, the provisional insolvency administrator Georg Jakob Stemshorn from the Pluta law firm announced that Nusser Textil GmbH, also from Westerheim, would take over the business operations as part of a transferring restructuring Mercury reported. The most important aspect of this takeover is the preservation of jobs: around half of the 23 employees will be taken over by Nusser Textil. This was announced in a press release and the acquisition is expected to close on January 1, 2025. However, there are also negative aspects as the other half of the workforce is not retained, which is a difficult situation for employees and their families. “With the purchaser concept, half of the jobs will be retained,” explained Stemshorn, which also means the best possible solution for the creditors who have to approve the transaction, as well as von SWP was highlighted.

Nusser Textil GmbH will integrate the Kneer laundry factory into its existing range, which specializes in home textiles. This offers the opportunity for synergy effects between the two companies and the acquisition is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the position in the market. This was confirmed by managing director Joseanne Nusser, who noted that the takeover represents an optimal addition to Nusser Textil. While the insolvency administration will continue to run the business until the economic transition, Kneer's brand identity will remain intact, ensuring the continuation of a tradition that has lasted for years.
