Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter: cost explosion due to sick animals!

Alarming veterinary costs

The Cologne-Dellbrück animal shelter is facing a huge financial mountain! More and more sick animals are being surrendered, and the costs for operations and treatment are rising immeasurably. The keepers are desperate and feel abandoned by irresponsible pet owners.

On Monday, November 11th, a young cat named Salino was abandoned at the shelter's doorstep after breaking his leg while playing. The previous owners could not bear the high treatment costs and simply left the animal behind. “We had to have Salino operated on immediately,” report the animal keepers, “but the bill of 2,081 euros pushes us to our limits!”

A cry for help to animal lovers

The situation in the animal shelter is dramatic. “We don’t complain often, but the veterinary costs are beyond our heads,” said the carers. More and more pet owners are giving up their animals when they have the smallest problems and leaving the responsibility to the animal shelter. The nurses are frustrated: “We are faced with a flood of medical emergencies and don’t know how we will manage it all next year!”

To help Salino and other animals, the animal shelter is hoping for donations from animal lovers. Every euro counts to ensure urgently needed medical care. If you would like to help, you can donate via Paypal and thus make a contribution to supporting the animal shelter in this critical situation.
