Weimar cultural highlights: from Bauhaus to violin concert!

Weimar. The city of Weimar awaits: From captivating concerts to fascinating historical lectures-there is something for everyone!

On Tuesday, November 12th, the ballroom of the Fürstenhaus becomes a setting for aspiring violin talents! From 6:30 p.m., students from the music college under the direction of Friedemann Eichhorn will present masterpieces of Bach, Paganini, Mozart and Mendelssohn Bartholdy. A musical pleasure that should not be missed!

Another highlight will take place on Wednesday, December 13th, in the city museum. Architect Michael Siebenbrodt will present the history of the Sildenhall settlement, which was created between 1921 and 1933 and was inspired by the Weimar Bauhaus. This unique community lived in harmony with nature and offered its residents a variety of facilities, including kindergarten and school. The lecture begins at 5 p.m. - a must for those interested in history!

On Thursday, November 14th, visitors can look forward to an exciting lecture in the Goethe National Museum. Historian Gerhard Müller will shed light on Goethe at 6 p.m. in the context of the zoological developments of his time. Admission is free and offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the connection between science and literature.

and not to forget: On November 13, 2024, Regina Jarisch, Ursula Krieger and Rita Dorn meet in the Albert-Schweitzer memorial and meeting place. With their different perspectives and topics, they take the audience into the world of prose and poetry. Entry is free here too - a perfect evening for literary fans!
