Thuringian villages: AfD stronghold ensures political turmoil!

A striking political tendency has developed in Thuringia, which is particularly clear in the two neighboring villages of Moxa and Paska. In the last local elections, these small communities in the slate mountains have proven to be a stronghold of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). The strong preference for the AfD shows not only in the election results, but also in the political climate on site.

Voter turnout and support for the AfD in these villages is a strong sign of political currents in rural areas. Moxa, a village with a long story that goes back to 1295, has shown a remarkable election behavior, for example. While 134 people lived in Moxa in the past, today there are only 80. The often busy state roads do not seem to make the charming place particularly attractive. Nevertheless, the political attitude of the residents remains stable and decided. In the last mayoral election, the AfD candidate Johannes Linke prevailed as the first mayor of the party throughout Thuringia.

AfD stronghold Paska

Immediately neighboring is Paska, where the political mood is even more pronounced for the AfD. Here, 60.9 percent voted for the party in the local elections. This represents a remarkable increase compared to the previous elections. In addition to the political orientation, Paska also has to offer historical processing. In the cemetery, a grave monument is reminiscent of four concentration camp prisoners who were shot in 1945 during the Second World War.

The AfD has not only become noticeable in the surveys, but also shows a deeply anchored influence on local politics through the election success in places such as Moxa and Paska.
