at 3:10 a.m., when the 52-year-old driver was traveling from Sonderhausen towards Nordhausen, two deer suddenly crossed the street. The impact with one of the animals was inevitable and the driver suffered minor injuries. His vehicle was significantly damaged, which also made the situation dramatic.

The police warn: game accidents are increasing, especially in autumn. Drivers should take the warnings on the roadside seriously and adapt their speed to the visual and lighting conditions. A sufficient distance from the vehicle in advance is also crucial.

An important tip: animals rarely come alone. When an animal crosses the street, further game changes can often be expected. In the case of high beam, it can happen that animals remain on the street as solidified - so the light should be switched off and chopped instead.
