Arnstadt celebrates Thanksgiving: Students plant trees for the future!
An exciting day in the forest for the students in class 6b of the regular school "Am Neibeck Castle" in Arnstadt! On October 24, the forest turned into a lively classroom when the students became active together with the Thuringian Forest. Under the guidance of her committed teacher Susann Staritz and school social worker René Heerlein, they planted Douglasia and oaks in a Plaue. A big thank you goes to the helpers from the Thuringian Forest who made this green mission possible!
But planting trees is not child's play! The students learned how important it is to properly protect the small trees. Protective grilles were attached to keep them from hungry wild animals, and the floor had to be loosened and irrigated regularly so that the roots could thrive well. This campaign was not only an educational experience, but also a crucial step in the fight against climate change. Trees are our green heroes that filter carbon dioxide from the air and produce oxygen - indispensable for our survival!
a sign of the future
The 6B students have set a strong sign of a sustainable future with their commitment. As a thank you, they received a Waldretter medal that appreciates their commitment. This action shows how important it is to sensitize the next generation to environmental protection. The hope is great that other school classes will follow this example and create similar projects!
