Students in Ruhla run for a good cause: strong together!
In the city of Ruhla, a donation run will be organized for the first time at the Albert Schweitzer-Gymnasium, which takes place on Tuesday, October 15th. The sustainability course of the eighth classes launched this initiative to collect money for a good cause. The idea is that each student will find their own donors who either donate an amount per round or a fixed amount. The students of the upper level take care of the catering of the participants during the run, and the income from the sale should also flow into the donation pot. The donations collected go to several facilities, including the Albert Schweitzer Children's Village and the Children's and Youth Hospice in Tambach-Dietharz.
The high school with this commitment not only wants to help the children and adolescents in Thuringia, but also further improve the school environment, for example the design of the school yard. An internal competition is also intended to promote running engagement of the classes because every class is struggling to run most rounds. For creative families, an action day will be offered on October 19 in the Wartburg district of the Wartburg district. Here children and adults can paint without guidelines and let their imagination run wild. Under the guidance of the local artist Christine Geiß, the participants become creative from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The fee for a family is ten euros.
