First home defeat for the Rhein-Neckar Löwen: Eisenach triumphed!

Eisenach, Deutschland - The Rhein-Neckar Löwen experience a bitter home debacle! For the first time in the current Daikin HBL season 2024/25 you have to surrender to the home arena, and that against the strong Eisenacher, who triumph with a clear 36:32. The pressure was noticeable right from the start, and the lions just didn't find their way into play. With a gap of 14:20 at halftime, the game was almost decided before it started!

The guests from Eisenach showed an impressive performance that was shaped by an aggressive defense and a patient attack. The lions could not overcome the strong goalkeeper Matija Spikic, who shone with a whopping nine parades. Despite some attempts to pull the helm around, the lions in the first round remained without a chance and constantly lagging behind. Sebastian Hinze, the lion's coach, tried to intervene with an early break, but the turn failed.
