Diving accident in Lake Zug: Two men after an emergency climb to the hospital!
On Friday, March 21, 2025, there was a dramatic diving accident at 4 p.m. at the Chlausenegg diving site in Arth. Two men between the ages of 63 and 25, who dipped around 40 meters deep in the Zugersee, experienced a critical situation when the older diver suddenly rose uncontrollably and quickly rose. In order to avoid possible complications, the 25-year-old also decided to get an emergency, but at slower speed. Despite his cautious approach, he felt immediately symptoms of decompression disease after the rise, which caused the two divers to alert the emergency services, such as Zuger Zeitung reported.
After the first medical care on site, the men were flown to a special clinic in Germany with a helicopter to a special clinic, which has a pressure chamber for the treatment of decompression disease. Fortunately, both divers were able to leave the clinic unharmed the following day. During the rescue work, Zugerstrasse had to be blocked in both directions for about an hour, which led to backlog. The Schwyz cantonal police have initiated an investigation into the exact cause of the accident in order to avoid further incidents in the future, as it Fireworld reported.
