SPD fights for jobs: prevent VW reduction!
In a dramatic appeal, the SPD emphasized the need to stop massive workplace reduction at Volkswagen! Katja Mast, the first parliamentary managing director of the SPD parliamentary group, made it clear that the cooperation between employees and employers in Germany is invaluable. "This form of co -determination is unique worldwide," she said, adding that the constructive dialogue between the two sides is crucial to avert the impending job losses.
The SPD is determined to fight for every single job! Mast emphasized that management errors must not be held on the back of the employees. "We as the SPD will fight for every workplace," she called, announcing that it would strengthen the participation, among other things through initiatives for more tariff binding. The Situation is coming to a head, because before the third tariff round at VW, the IG Metall and the works council are pushing for a quick conclusion before Christmas.

The negotiations are under a dark star: VW demands a drastic reduction in wages of ten percent and plans to delete various bonuses and allowances. In addition, factory closures and operational terminations are at risk! A concept of the works council could be the key to smooth the waves and to secure the jobs. The coming weeks will be decisive to determine the future of the VW employees!
