Traffic controls in Stormarn: Police warn for safety!

on November 7, 2024, between 6.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., six brave officials from the Bad Oldesloe police station and the Reinfeld police station started a large -scale traffic control throughout Stormarn. The focus was not only on traffic safety, but also on preventive discussions with road users to sensitize them to potential dangers.

The first stop was Bad Oldesloe, where the police particularly targeted e-scooter and cyclists. In the early hours of the morning, when the dawn was still there, it was noticed that many cyclists and e-scooter users were traveling without switched on lighting-an alarming security risk! In three cases, the officials even had to issue control reports. Then we continued to Reinfeld, where the Nordstormarnstraße became a stand control. Here most drivers showed exemplary behavior and had all the necessary safety precautions, including vehicle documents, first aid material and warning triangle.

Security deficiencies uncovered

Despite the positive balance sheet, there were complaints on ten vehicles because essential equipment was missing. The control of seat belt use was particularly striking - a topic that always comes into focus. Police spokeswoman Sandra Kilian was satisfied with the results: "The officers took a positive balance and also had many preventive conversations in terms of traffic safety." These controls are crucial to raise awareness of traffic safety and to emphasize the responsibility of road users.

The police urgently appeals to all road users, even in the coming months, to pay attention to complete and functional equipment of their vehicles and to always adhere to the traffic rules. This is the only way to ensure the safety of all in road traffic!
