No place for Aunt Enso: Supermarket plans in Grönwohld failed!
Grönwohld, Deutschland - in Grönwohld, the hope of an Aunt-Enso shop, a 24-hour shopping market in the cooperative model, has finally burst. The company, which wanted to gain a foothold in the Stormarn community, came across obstacles. Managing Director Thorsten Bausch reported that after the only supermarket was closed, cooperative shares were quickly drawn. But the plans for moving to the former Edeka failed because the owner registered bankruptcy. The increasing construction and material costs by the Ukraine War have further jeopardized the project, such as the failed plans and retreat
A new attempt in a party barn was also unsuccessful. After months of planning, the inn withdrew its promise. Despite another attempt to invest in the former Edeka, there was no feedback because the property has now been awarded differently. Bausch said they asked for help, but even after a promising conversation three months ago there was no new information. "We have never experienced anything like in Grönwohld," said Bausch. The cooperative shares that the citizens had drawn could be terminated by the end of September, whereby the repayment will only be made in June 2025. Mayor Birte Höltig regretted the failure of the plans and pointed out that it was an important task for the community to secure the local supply. The lack of suitable rooms that also had enough parking space made the situation complicated. If there is a suitable solution at some point, the community will be ready to check it. An Aunt-Enso shop is a modern mix of a traditional corner shop and an online supermarket. The shops offer a wide selection of daily demands and were very popular in Grönwohld, but reality has made different plans so far.
