Baltic Sea levels affected: flood warnings for our coasts!
Neustadt/Heiligenhafen/Fehmarn/Wismarn The coastal region on the Baltic Sea is under the constant pressure increasing level So far! The waves beat higher in the Bay of Lübeck, and the weather conditions do not promise anything good. The most important levels at the measuring stations in Heiligenhafen, Marienlucht (Fehmarn), Neustadt (Ostholstein) and Wismar are on the brink. Our latest report shows the critical values that every coastal inhabitant should be willing to alert!
Flood warnings absorb like a storm over Schleswig-Holstein. There are four alarm levels that range from "small floods" to "very large floods". While alarm level 1 warns caution in front of Neustadt, it is time to open your eyes to the impending dangers. Fully run roads, flooded land - which seemed unimaginably a few hours ago, could be a reality shortly!
Current water levels-An obvious risk!
The just measured water level in Neustadt shows worrying values. The abbreviations MHW, MNW and HHW stand for the "medium flood", the "medium low water" and the "highest flood level" - terms that now mean much more for residents than just statistics. The highest water level was 782 centimeters on November 13, 1872 - but nature knows no mercy: High water levels can quickly lead to flooding and put order upside down!
The flood center has already given warnings and the flood portal shows the dramatic developments. Under the current conditions, quick action is required to avoid worse things. Where vacation has been happy in recent years, floods could soon cause chaos. Time is forced - everyone should be clear about the risks and find out in time!
