Martinsritt in Niendorf: Experience tradition, light and community!

In Niendorf, a magical tradition will be revived on Saturday, November 9th! The Tourist Association Ostseeheilbad Niendorf invites you to the Martinsritt, a festive lantern parade that makes the hearts of the participants beat faster. "Especially in today's world, the story of Sankt Martin, who shares his coat with the freezing beggar, has more topicality than ever," emphasizes the organizer and promises an unforgettable experience.

The magical evening begins at 5 p.m. in the Niendorfer Petri Church, where Pastor Johannes Höpfner tells the moving Martin history. Then Sankt Martin, high on horseback, will lead the lantern parade. When the weather plays along, the Street band Ratekau will accompany the participants with happy sounds to the Niendorf balcony, where the trombone choir Gleschendorf/Scharbeutz appears and further fueled the mood.

The lantern and torch parade meanders from the church via Paduaweg into the beach road, past the house of the Kurgastes, to the beach promenade and finally to the Niendorf balcony (Seebrücken forecourt). There Sankt Martin will experience the touching moment when he shares his coat with the beggar. An experience that will captivate the participants!

There is the possibility to warm up on the fire and strengthen with drinks and small dishes. The village board, the support association of the Ev. Kindergarten and the volunteer fire brigade support this festive event, which provides additional highlights with appearances by fire artists. An evening full of light and warmth awaits visitors!
