Swimming highlights: Elmshorner MTV cheers over 15 championship titles in Kiel!

The SHSV short rail championships 2024 took place in the Kiel University Schwimmhalle last week, which attracted numerous swimmers from Schleswig-Holstein. This prestigious event welcomed a total of 287 talented swimmers, including 18 athletes of the Elmshorner MTV, who were able to qualify for the championships.

For the Elmshorner MTV, the weekend was a resounding success, with a total of 15 championship titles won, which were fought by five women and eleven men. Unfortunately, some athletes, including Sören Petrol and Jasmin Saleh Sadgpour, were unable to take part due to health problems, but this did not reduce the outstanding performance of the other swimmers.

The most outstanding performance delivered Kolja Dieckmann, who won a total of eight championship titles. He won five titles as the SHSV national year champion in various disciplines such as 100m freestyle, 200m layers and 100m back and three titles in the open class. His dominance in the pelvis was recognized by the spectators and coaches alike.

Another remarkable swimmer was Lukas Hell, born in 2011, who won three gold medals over 100m back in competition, 100m butterfly and 200m back. His services testify to considerable talent and hard work.

Elia Heyland, born in 2009, also had reason to be happy and secured first place in the open rating over 400m. Elias Sielfeld, born in 2008, was able to triumph over 100m chest as a year master and also achieved silva medals in the disciplines 100m freestyle, 100m back and 200m chest. Michelle Hermert, born in 2013, also beamed as national champion over 100m butterfly and chest.

Overall, the athletes of the Elmshorner MTV completed 87 starts during the championships. For the new Spanish head coach Anton Fenes Garcia, the focus was on improving technology and individual services. The athletes could not only win titles, but also set up many personal bests, which underlines the positive development of the team.
