Kida Ramadan: Celebrity in Jail – Nobody celebrates me here!

The well-known actor and director Kida Khodr Ramadan surprises with his sudden insights from prison! The 48-year-old, currently in a Berlin prison, stated clearly: “There is no celebrity status.” Despite his fame, he feels like anyone else in prison, without any special treatment. “It’s not like they all celebrated me there,” he emphasizes in an interview with the news magazine “stern”.

The first few days in prison were brutal for Ramadan. “It was a very difficult situation at the beginning because I wasn’t immediately in open prison,” he remembers worriedly. He has vowed to use his time behind bars to reflect on his mistakes and learn from them.

Film screening despite prison sentence

Ramadan is behind Swedish curtains for driving without a license several times. He has been serving his sentence since the beginning of August. Now he is granted a rare long-term exit - just in time to present his new film "Haltlos"! On his tour through North Rhine-Westphalia, Hamburg and Berlin, the “4 Blocks” star gives interviews and inspires his fans, while still having to cope with everyday prison life.

He admits that his ADHD diagnosis hasn't helped ease his difficulties. He was diagnosed with a severe form of the disorder and is now receiving medication. "You constantly do impulsive actions and don't think about the consequences. Only when the child has fallen into the well do you think: Fuck!", says Ramadan, visibly frustrated about his past. His open and honest confession shows that he doesn't just want to accept the situation.
