Kiel in focus: Students experience journalism at ARD youth media day!

A dramatic incident shook the downtown Kiel on Tuesday evening when an ambulance that was on the way to the hospital collided with a car. The impact was so violent that the car was thrown over the sidewalk and came to a standstill in front of a house wall. Fortunately, the patient was unharmed in the ambulance and was taken to the hospital with another vehicle. But the accident called for two slightly injured people who also had to be transported to the hospital. The fire brigade and emergency services were on site with a large contingent to cope with the situation.

ARD youth media day and job fair in Kiel

On Wednesday, the ARD youth media day takes place in the NDR state radio house in Kiel, in which journalists give young people exciting insights into the editorial work from the 8th grade. A nationwide study shows that 30 percent of 12 to 19-year-olds receive their news about platforms such as YouTube, Tiktok or Instagram. But the Federal Center for Political Education warns of the spread of false reports on social media, which are often difficult to distinguish from real news.

In Neumünster, five schools were recognized as "partner school talent promotion" in Neumünster to improve the promotion of sports talents. These schools, including the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium Preetz and the Herderschule Rendsburg, have expanded their sports focus in the past two years. Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack emphasized the importance of combining sports and school for the best possible performance of the talents.
