A new star in the water police firmament: First Police Chief Inspector (EPHK) Maren Soltwedel has been in charge of the water police station in Kiel since October. She is following in the footsteps of Matthias Radant, who retired. With this, Kiel is sending a strong signal - Maren Soltwedel is the first woman to ever lead a water police station in Schleswig-Holstein!

The 47-year-old has an impressive career. Over many years she has proven herself in various leadership positions in the police and water protection police. Most recently, she was the head of the operations department in the water police department at the state police office. Her extensive knowledge and experience make her the ideal choice for this important position.

Reinforcement for Kiel and surrounding areas

Under Soltwedelel's leadership, the Kiel Water Police Station will not only be responsible for Kiel, but will also oversee the stations in Flensburg and Kappeln. Two powerful coastal boats, “Falshöft” and “Staberhuk”, are also under her command. Senior Police Director Marco Kosminski praises her for her outstanding leadership qualities and assures that she is the key to professionally meeting the challenges at the Kiel location. The future of the area is in the best hands!
