renaming the venue
The SG Flensburg-Handewitt has made a significant change in its history: From now on, your home venue will no longer be known under the name "Campushalle". This was done as part of a special event in which the new name was officially announced. The good old shed, which was only opened as a "Vikinghalle" in 2001, has remained known under various names in recent years, including as a Flens-Arena.
The last game that took place in the campus hall was a gripping duel against Frisch on Göppingen on September 21, which the Flensburgers won with a 37: 32 victory. Today's game against SC Magdeburg is already being played in the "GP Joule Arena" after the North German energy provider lends its name for the next three years.
GP Joule as a new partner
According to a press release from SG Flensburg-Handewitt, GP Joule, who has been acting as a partner since 2022, will intensify cooperation and focus on sustainability. Managing Director Holger Glandorf emphasizes that the association is aware of its social responsibility and is happy to have a long -term partner at his side who supports the sustainable strategies of the association.
"As a sports club, we are aware of our social and social obligation. Therefore, it is an enormous profit for us as a SG that we have a long-term partner at our side with GP Joule," said Glandorf. This shows the endeavor to make top sport in Germany and Europe environmentally friendly.
Ove Petersen, the co-founder and CEO of GP Joule, adds: "Where GP Joule is on it must be 100% renewable. Therefore, together with SG Flensburg-Handewitt, we want to show how sustainable top sport can be."
The renovation work in the current arena has already started to implement this new partnership and the introduced sustainability strategy accordingly. The history of the campus hall is not only a chronicle of games, but also stands for a change in the world of sport towards responsible action and environmentally friendly practices.
