There are no salaries: shipyards protest in front of FSG!
In Schleswig-Holstein, there are currently several headlines in focus, which affect tragic events as well as challenges in the transport infrastructure and ecological questions. A clear picture of the location in the region is emerging when numerous helpers and employees protested in front of the Flensburg Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) on Monday morning. They called for the outstanding September wages because around 80 employees from the shipyard in Flensburg and Rendsburg are waiting for salaries that have not been paid out in the past. The situation is a serious challenge that led to demonstrations. In addition to these labor law tensions, there was a tragic incident on Sunday evening: a 17-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a car accident near Fockbek, in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district. The young woman was hit by a car when she was on the road with an accompaniment. Despite immediate medical care in the clinic in Rendsburg, she died there later. The exact circumstances of the accident have not yet been clarified.
ecological challenges in Schleswig-Holstein
Another concern of the region is in the area of the environment: the renaturation of rivers in Schleswig-Holstein is only progressing slowly. Experts from the areas of water and soil report that there is a lack of suitable surfaces in order to let rivers flow wider in a natural way or to attribute them to their original condition. However, these measures are important for the ecosystem and flood protection. Due to the limited space, renaturation projects are becoming increasingly expensive and more complex. For this reason, the Ministry of the Environment is forced to strategically choose what could further hinder the structures and the necessary measures.
In the area of public transport, there is also important information: If you want to drive from Norderstedt to Hamburg with the subway, you have to prepare for an additional travel time this week. The Hamburg Transport Association (HVV) has announced that the U1 is closed from Monday to Sunday due to construction work. This affects different sections of the route, which means that the journeys can take up to 20 minutes longer.
In the world of sport, SG Flensburg-Handewitt had to experience a narrow defeat in the handball Bundesliga against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. In front of 9,900 spectators, the Flensburgers could not break out of the current series of defeats and are now in the ninth place in the league. The decisive goal for the defeat fell only seconds before the end of the game.
The Monday is rounded off by changeable weather in Schleswig-Holstein with a mix of sun and clouds. While rain is occasionally expected, especially in the south of the state, it remains dry in many regions. The temperatures reach a maximum of 15 to 17 degrees, accompanied by fresh wind on the coast.
These developments reflect the current challenges and events with which Schleswig-Holstein is confronted. Apart from the tragic human fates, the areas of business, the environment and public transport are the focus of attention.
