Ferry Missunde II remains in the shipyard until November 22nd!
Kosel, Deutschland - The grass river "Missund II" will be out of service until November 22nd! An unexpected setback for commuters and travelers between Kosel and Brodersby, because originally the ferry should be ready for use on November 4th. The reason for the delay? The engine of the 21 -year -old ferry is in poor condition, and new parts urgently need to be ordered that have longer delivery times. The repairs run at the Eberhardt shipyard in Arnis.
The situation is particularly explosive, since the "Missund II" is still in use despite its wear. Her successor, the "Missunde III", cannot drive safely at higher wind speeds and lets the passengers down. The costs for the necessary repairs amount to around 110,000 euros - an expensive price for a ferry that should actually be discarded!
a ferry debacle of extra class
The "Missunde" saga has been going on for months. The new ferry was to be put into operation in February, but complex renovation work has repeatedly delayed the plans. The region faces a real problem: how long can the "Missund II" last, and when will the new ferry finally be ready for use? The uncertainty remains while the passengers hope for a solution.
