Hollywood, Kalifornien, USA - Hollywood's superstar Eddie Murphy, known for his dazzling roles, slips into a new, exciting skin! The 63-year-old will take over the main role in a eagerly awaited biopic about the legendary radio pioneer George Clinton, as "Variety" reports. Directed by the Oscar-winning Bill Condon, who already put Murphy in the spotlight for the celebrated film musical "Dreamgirls" in 2006. This film adaptation is based on the fascinating memoir of the 83-year-old Clinton, who is honored as the "father of radio".
George Clinton revolutionized the music scene! Already as a teenager he founded his first band and later led iconic groups like Parliament and Funkadelic. Hits like "Flash Light", "P-Funk", "One Nation Under A Groove" and "Atomic Dog" are part of his impressive repertoire. In 1997 Parliament-Funkadelic was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2019 Clinton, together with his bandmates, received a Grammy Honorary Award for her life's work. Most recently, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - further proof of his imperishable influence. Clinton, famous for his spectacular live appearances, has inspired countless artists such as Prince, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
