Voluntary commitment: New Year's reception in Bellevue Castle

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender invited to Bellevue Castle on January 10, 2025. Around 200 guests, including representatives of public life and around 60 citizens from all federal states who have made a contribution to the common good, were present. In his speech, Steinmeier paid tribute to the commitment of the guests and emphasized the importance of respect, trust, courage, confidence, humanity and common sense.

The invited citizens also included six volunteers from Schleswig-Holstein. The deputy prime minister Aminata Touré accompanied these guests to the reception. After the event there was a lunch in Bellevue Castle, in which Steinmeier encouraged those present to talk about their honorary posts to inspire others.

The invitations were sent to numerous committed personalities from the different federal states. Some of the guests from Schleswig-Holstein are: Verena Balve, chair of the "Lichtblick Flensburg Lichtblick" association, which offers help in life crises with a focus on suicide prevention for children and adolescents; Moritz Dietzsch, deputy chairman of the state youth ring and co -founder of the “Restteritter” project, which cooks from non -sold fruit and vegetables of Chutneys and jams to finance warm lunches for school children; and Tina Hindersmann-Schmidt, who brings children and adolescents closer to sailing.

Other invited guests from Schleswig-Holstein are Esther Irmer, who are committed to the education and support of breast cancer patients, as well as the couple Karina and Gerd Vahder, who actively work in the Hans Momsen-Gesellschaft to maintain the legacy of Hans Momsen and the museum café.

Overall, a variety of personalities traveled who, through their commitment in a wide variety of areas, make a valuable contribution to their community and enrich public life.
