World Savings Day: 100 years saving for the future - one euro for children!

At the end of this month there is a big anniversary: World Savings Day is 100 years old! Located in 1924 to promote saving among the population, this day is an international event that united delegates from 27 countries. Whether for retirement, the dream of your own apartment or simply as a security measure, the desire for wealth formation connects people worldwide. That is why many banks have joined this valuable mission.

In particular, the savings banks rely on the pedagogical claim of the savings concept. On October 30, one euro will be donated to the Child Protection Association for every deposit at the Sparkassen in Schleswig-Holstein. "Not every child can save" - under this action -packed motto, 30,000 euros were collected for a forest youth initiative last year, as Oliver Saggau, CEO of Sparkasse Westholstein.

satisfaction and optimism increase

After three years of uncertainty, optimism is gradually returning, the asset barometer 2024. 38 percent of Germans feel financially good to very well positioned - an increase of 4 percentage points compared to the previous year! The galloping inflation rates and rising food prices have strained the minds, but as Saggau determines, people now notice an improvement. Another bright spot: 36 percent expect your financial situation to improve in the next two years.

whereas only 22 percent fear a deterioration - this is a decrease of 3 percentage points! Even if so far only 21 percent of the respondents feel the falling inflation, this has not led to consumers becoming reckless, because 56 percent continue to adapt their consumption behavior to the high prices. One could say that the Germans have the reins firmly in their hands: 15 percent buy less, 12 percent comparisons prices and some dare the step to spend more money again.
