Shortage of teachers in Dithmarschen: New project for students starts!

A dramatic incident shocked Brokdorf in the Steinburg district when a car burst into flames on Sunday evening! The fire department was alerted when the fire spread to a carport and a shed. In order to protect the neighboring house, additional emergency services were called in from the area. After an intensive battle against the flames that lasted two hours, the fire was finally extinguished. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the extent of the property damage and the cause of the fire remain unclear for the time being.

Recruitment of teachers in Dithmarschen

The shortage of teachers in Dithmarschen is alarming! To counteract this problem, the district has launched an innovative project. Students completing internships in the region now receive free accommodation. This offer is aimed particularly at students with no connection to Dithmarschen and is intended to encourage them to get to know the region during their practical semester. Due to its success, the funding will be increased to an impressive 20,000 euros, which has already been approved by the school and culture committee. The “Teachers Service Office” has been working on measures to recruit new teachers for four years.
