Abitur: SPD calls for the same educational opportunities for city and country!

Flensburg, Deutschland - Kiel. In the cities of Schleswig-Holstein, the high school diploma quota increases to dizzying heights, while rural circles such as Steinburg and North Friesland stubbornly lag behind. The SPD parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament sees this an alarming defect-and immediately calls for measures by the state government!

The latest figures speak a clear language: In Flensburg, 71.3 percent of the students create their high school diploma, while Neumünster largely convince with 68.6 percent and Kiel with 57.2 percent. But then the shock follows! In the Steinburg district, only a measly 34.1 percent graduate, in Dithmarschen it is just 31.3 percent. Even in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, only 25.2 percent of the students get the coveted conclusion! The average in the whole country is only 40.2 percent - a real alarm sign!

weeks of injustice!

The SPD sees in these numbers a clear sign of a serious injustice in the educational landscape of Schleswig-Holstein. While in the city areas there is an abundance of high -level offers - also for students from the surrounding area - students from agricultural areas have to fight for their future. "Educational opportunities must not depend on the place of residence!" Explains the SPD education politician Martin Habersaat loudly. So what is the real reason for these blatant differences? One thing is clear: it is not about the intelligence of the students, but about the sheer accessibility of schools with upper grades. A decision on the educational qualification should not depend on whether the next high school is only around the corner or 20 kilometers away!

The state government counters that the Abitur rate was in the nationwide midfield-but the question remains: Who ensures equal opportunities in education?
