Change at the top: Paulo Soares takes over at Schildauer Wurstwaren
Schildau is making headlines! After almost 20 years at the helm of Schildauer Fleisch- und Wurstwaren GmbH, Wilfried Naumann is retiring. The 67-year-old, who has had a decisive influence on the company, is handing over the reins to Paulo Soares, who was introduced to the employees on Monday. Soares, 53, brings a breath of fresh air and more than 15 years of experience in the food industry - a combination that makes for exciting changes!
“With Paulo Soares we are gaining an experienced and visionary leader,” enthuses shareholder Franz Josef Gausepohl. Soares is proud to be part of the traditional “Schildauer” brand and has big plans: He not only wants to preserve the excellent quality of the products, which recently received six gold medals at the DLG awards, but also set new standards.
The new boss with a unique background
Paulo Soares, with Portuguese roots, has had an impressive career. After getting started in the food industry in Portugal, he returned to Germany to manage Schildauer's fortunes. In addition, Naumann, who will move to the advisory board on January 1, 2025, will support the new leadership. “I am grateful for the opportunities that have been given to me,” explains Naumann and is optimistic about the future of the company.
Despite a serious case of cancer and the challenges of chemotherapy, Naumann maintained contact with his company. “The illness taught me that there are more important things in life – namely life itself,” says the recovering man. While Soares takes over the business, Naumann ensures that the course is set for future investments. Half a million euros will flow into new technology to further strengthen the company.
