Oschatz Bakery Taube: Only five votes behind the winner!
Oschatz. In an exciting competition for the best rolls in Northern Saxony, the Oschatz bakery Taube took second place! In an online survey by the LVZ, in which 523 participants took part, the Torgau bakery Füchsel came out on top with a lead of just five votes. Füchsel received 103 votes, while Taube received 98 votes. The Zwanzig bakery from Beerendorf came in third place with 63 votes. A head-to-head race that kept the region's bread roll lovers in suspense!
“A great result for us!” says Nils Taube, the managing director and master baker. The popularity of his rolls is no secret: “We bake between 12,000 and 15,000 rolls every day in 15 different varieties, which we change regularly.” The bakery has made a name for itself not only in Oschatz, but also in surrounding towns such as Riesa and Torgau. Taube has built a strong branch network that brings new hope to small towns where other bakeries have had to close.
15 branches between Eilenburg and Riesa
The Taube Bakery is a true savior in an emergency! With 15 branches in the surrounding area, it ensures that people can enjoy fresh bread even in small towns. “Our last branch opening was at Edeka in Eilenburg, and we are already planning the next one in Dahlen,” explains Taube. Despite the challenges plaguing the industry, such as high energy costs and labor shortages, Taube remains optimistic. “My daughter will soon complete her apprenticeship as a baker and take over the company,” says the master baker happily.
Currently the focus is on Christmas baking! “We are preparing stollen and cookies and will soon open our stollen online shop,” reveals Taube. And best of all: the traditional Stollen for the first Stollen cutting at the Oschatz Christmas market is also supplied by Taube. The anticipation of the festive season is palpable!
