Reibitz, Deutschland - In Reibitz, 19-year-old Linus Mihan has started exciting training as a pond host. During his first years of apprenticeship, he was already able to demonstrate his skills by getting great catfish and carp out of the retail pools. The owner of fishing, Marcel Reinhardt, is happy about the return of the training company after a phase has passed without an apprentice. Mihan is a valuable addition to the team, especially in the hectic harvest time in which numerous fish are caught.

Mihan, who is currently doing many of the harvesting work, feels comfortable in his elementary new environment. "The goal of my training is the end of the Teichwirt," he says proudly, while he is in his fishing uniform. The profession creates a direct connection to nature and animals, which Mihan appreciates very much. "I tried to come here because I like to work outdoors and not only want to get to know the practical work, but also the aspects of the pond economy," says the Herrnhuther native.

versatile training with great responsibility

Marcel Reinhardt emphasizes the challenges associated with training in such a traditional craft. "The trainees have to make decisions quickly," he explains. This type of training not only requires physical fitness, but also a strong commitment to nature. Can and willingness to work in the cold water and slaughter fish are part of the everyday life of the trainees.

According to Reinhardt, it is important that the apprentices have a real interest in fishing: "The love of nature and animal is essential. Your physical and mental state must also be good." Mihan even completed a voluntary ecological year at a fishing station, which helped him familiarize with his new profession. He emphasizes that the experiences there have optimally prepared him for his apprenticeship.

The young Teichwirt is also in the process of acquiring his driving license for cars with large followers, which is of crucial importance for the transport of fish. In his three -year training, which is designed dual, he receives both practical and theoretical knowledge. During the 13 weeks of vocational school per year, his knowledge is deepened in Königswartha. Mihan is determined to learn the versatility of fishing, which extends from catching fish to processing and marketing.

After just a few months, Linus Mihan seems to grow well into his new environment. With the upcoming celebrations at the Square Egg on October 26 and 27, he has the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned and to further expand his skills. The work he does is more than just a job: it is the beginning of a deep connection to nature and a valuable contribution to maintaining a centuries -old tradition.
