Contemporary opera: a sound flow of the emotions in the Graz Cathedral!

An innovative art project combines contemporary music with classic inspiration and offers an unforgettable experience. Composer Aubert Crovato reports that the idea of classical music for a work of art began, which impressively conveys emotions and melodies. The overall manager of the project, Manfred Erjautz, has staged his own sculptures with a singer and wrote a book that divided the résumé of the file thematically: from youth to topics such as deception and desire. Erjautz explains that these elements are the way to the main topic of the piece, which deals with the transience of life, as reported on steiermark.Ork.at

The project uses an electrical sound design of "Doctors on Decks", whereby the classical music is reduced to essential motifs and is dynamically designed by improvisation during the performance. Singer Camille Primeau describes the performance as a "total work of art" that is enriched by modern technology. The impressive 360-degree ambisound sound system in the Graz Cathedral in the mountain immerses the audience into an extraordinary world of sound and strengthens the emotional effect of the play. "It's really a lot of fun," she adds.

musical background

There is an interesting reference to Robert Schumann's work "Manfred", which is based on a poem by Lord Byron and was created in 1848. The music includes an overture and 15 other pieces that contain dramatic elements. This complex connection between music and literature created a deep emotional response that has survived generations. According to Peters Ostwald's analysis, the work was written in a time of great inner quales of Schumann and shows the artistic depth of the composer. The overture was first performed in Leipzig in 1852 and is still one of the highest esteem of romanticism, as documented on wikipedia ).
